Global crude steel production increased by 2.2% year-on-year in August

On September 25, the World Steel Association (WSA) released the latest global crude steel production data showing that in August, the global crude steel production in 63 countries and regions included in the statistics was 152.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%.In terms of regions, in August, Africa's crude steel production was 1.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%; Asia and Oceania's crude steel production was 115.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.5%; the European Union (27 countries) crude steel production was 9.1 million tons , a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%; the crude steel output of other European countries was 3.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%; the Middle East crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.0%; the crude steel output of North America was 9.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6% ; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine's crude steel production was 7.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.7%; South America's crude steel production was 3.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.1%.From the perspective of the world's top ten steel-producing countries (regions), China's crude steel output was 86.41 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%; India's crude steel output was 11.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%; Japan's crude steel output was 7.1 million tons, A year-on-year decrease of 2.9%; U.S. crude steel production is 7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%; Russia's crude steel production is estimated to be 6.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%; South Korea's crude steel production is 5.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%; Germany Crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.0%; Turkey's crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%; Brazil's crude steel output was 2.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.9%; Iran's crude steel output was 1.6 million tons, A year-on-year decrease of 24.1%.

In August, from the perspective of blast furnace pig iron production, the pig iron production of the 37 countries (regions) included in the global statistics was 109 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%. In terms of regions, the pig iron production of the European Union (27 countries) was 5.27 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 12.2%; the pig iron production of other European countries was 1.18 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%; the pig iron production of Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine was 536 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%; North America's pig iron production is expected to be 2.42 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%; South America's pig iron production is 2.34 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%; Asia's pig iron production is 92.19 million tons (of which China's is 74.62 million) tons), a year-on-year increase of 4.8%; Oceania pig iron production was 370,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%. In August, the direct reduced iron (DRI) pig iron production of 13 countries around the world was 9.97 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.9%. Among them, India's direct reduced iron production was 4.12 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%; Iran's direct reduced iron production was 2.74 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%.
